About

Global Citizens for Puerto Rico

by Jennifer Gaskill

Provide Urgent Relief to people of Puerto Rico affected by Hurricanes Irma & Maria.

Donations are going to 4 non-profit organizations.
1. Puerto Rico Rise Up, Inc. is a nonprofit formed by a group of healthcare professionals and volunteers from all over US and PR working together to help expedite relief efforts for the Victims of Hurricane Maria and long term rebuilding efforts. We have served immediate needs like medical supplies, medications and medical care and will continue fulfilling immediate needs and partner with other similar organizations to rebuild the infrastructure and make PR “la Isla Del encanto” again.
2. Americares- Medical Supplies & necessary power sources for medical supplies are flown and dispersed directly to Puerto Ricans in need collaborating with the PR Health Department to be sure people who need it are receiving it!
3. Taller Salud provides relief to the area of Loiza- one of the poorest municipalities and one of the hardest hit on the coast.
4. Initiativa Comunitaria de Investigacion - delivers food and donates time and efforts to clean up and service to people in rural mountainous/ rain forest areas.

The aim- directly help people still on the island and provide needed financial resources to organizations to continue working directly with those impacted most! And, to provide what is wanted and needed by SO MANY!

We are ALL Global Citizens and get to help one another in need & support and elevate those in need!

Together, WE can make a difference. Unfortunately unlike originally thought, Gannett Media can only match my personal donation which I will work to reach as high as possible with you guys!!!

PLEASE SHARE this campaign with your friends!

In Puerto Rico they are being treated as if they were not Americans. So I know every little bit counts so I just want to be able to do my part to help!

I'm Puertorican! Boricua! My daughter survived the hurricane but I had to bring her to Indy with me because of lack of water and no power. I love my island and my ppl, our food and our music! I want my island to go back to being the island of enchantment as it used to be!

I’m from PR. I was actually in Puerto Rico when the hurricane passed through our gorgeous island and pretty much destroyed it. I was lucky enough to travel to the U.S. after 3 weeks, living with no running water or power. It’s very rough and sad what is happening everyday and I want to do everything I can to help raise PR again.
