Help us bring Bongo Boys and Silly Safari to camp!

Hello my name is Alea and I have been going to SonRise camps for 7 years. SonRise summer camp is a five-day four-night camp for youth and adult volunteers and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I look forward to going to camp every summer where we make friends, play games, sing karaoke, dance and learn more about God’s love for us.

Last year I raised money to sponsor a Silly Safari during camp. Silly Safari is a program that brings a variety of animals to camp. The instructor teaches us about the animals and we get to learn more about God’s wonderful nature. This year I want to raise money to bring Silly Safari to all 8 camps and in addition to the Silly Safari I want to add the Bongo Boys drum therapy group.

Please join us me in providing these fun and therapeutic opportunities for the campers participating in this year’s eight camps in Anderson Indiana.

The cost is $2500 to provide both these experiences for 8 camps this summer. If I can raise $5000 it will provide for next year’s camps too!...AND EVERY DOLLAR WILL BE MATCHED BY AN ANONYMOUS DONOR.

Pick a donation amount between $1 and $72 and you will help us provide Silly Safari and Bongo Boys for 1 years and our matching Donor pays for the 2nd year. Thanks so much for your support of our family over the years and helping us spread that to others.

Here is a little more about the Silly Safari – more and more research is being done that shows how petting animals reduces blood pressure, calms and just makes people happy. This is what Silly Safari does and more for our campers.

The Bongo Boys drum therapy - Group empowerment drumming for individuals with special needs often decreases anxiety, stress and depression, and helps to improve joint mobility, posture, and motor skills. Drum Circles help increase energy levels, improve immunity, stimulate brain activity and spread joy while building community.
